Apparently he has a new CD out which no one cares about, but I am sure you can rely on the the old fella cracking out some of the tunes that defines Australian Pub Rock.

Jimmy will be supported by local Canberra artists Tonk and Night Train, and I am sure that whoever saw that gig at the ANU with me can testify that Night Train can often be better than the main band.

The cool kids at ACT Inline Hockey are having their grand final this Sunday at their purpose-built facility in Hume. If you’re a bit partial to hockey or rollerblading or wrestling, then you’ve got to give this sport a look. There’s no better way to get started than to see a clash of their very best.

For future reference, when you approach people with crazy halloween ideas, they generally think you’re a bit odd. The basic issue is this: We want to carve jack-o-lanterns. Once. We don’t want the effort to go unappreciated, so naturally I contacted everyone I thought might be interested in a bit of halloween decoration and offered our exceedingly unprofessional services. Here’s some highlights:

I think these people were taking the whole caper more seriously than me. But they were all actually trying to be helpful with what was admitedly an odd request.

Or at least to train for one? CIT solutions are running one night courses in how to make kick-ass coffee. Basically, I want as many people as possible to write my name on every coffee they make. This is a skill. I’ve heard that they only teach you to write K – A – T – E. Maybe confirm this when you book the course.
Those crazy folk at the ACT Ultimate Frisbee association are conducting cut-price ($25) clinics to help you hone your skills or try the sport. Over 5 big weeks beginning on the 3rd of November. It’s rather a cool sport and well worth a shot.

For the record, I got hit by the frisbee just so I could take this photo.
